Urge H.E.L.P. Committee to vote no on Betsy DeVos for U.S. Education Secretary. Hearing starts today, January 17th at 5 p.m. Watch here.
Betsy DeVos represents pay to play at its worst. According to the Washington Post DeVos openly admits she is “buying influence:”
She( DeVos) has previously said that her family expects a return on investments in political candidates and causes, writing in Roll Call in 1997 that she had decided “to stop taking offense at the suggestion that we are buying influence. “Now I simply concede the point,” she wrote nearly 20 years ago. “They are right. We do expect some things in return.
Keep telling members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (H.E.L.P.) that Betsy DeVos is a hostile opponent of public schools and unqualified for confirmation as U.S. Secretary of Education.
Take action now. Call, tweet & write every member of the H.E.L.P. Committee. Use this phone list from Network for Public Education. Include local & national members of the press in your tweets!
